Atoms in life
Towards the end of the 2nd World War, on the early morning of 6 August 1945, a ball of fire appeared over the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
Rising to a height of 9000m, the large mushroom-shaped cloud of smoke and debris claimed 150 000 lives with most of the city. This was the first atomic bomb ever released.
So powerful the effect that only shadows of the people caught in the blast was left...
How was this explosion produced?
